Overview
50μ 24k Gold Plated
The thicker the gold plating, the better the electrical conductivity and signal integrity whilst also enhancing corrosion resistance which is important to retain conductivity over time. Furthermore, CORE's 50-micron 24k gold plated contact pins comply with IEC 60603-7.
3-Prong Pins
Some manufacturers use 2-Prong Pins. CORE's 3-Prong Pin design has a large surface area with 3 points of contact on the cable's copper wire conductor. The larger contact area with the copper wire conductor decreases crosstalk whilst providing better electrical conductivity and signal integrity. Furthermore, 3 pins allow a stable and stronger hold compared to 2 pins.
2-Rows, Improved Crosstalk Performance
By allowing the cable to be inserted further into the plug, this reduces the length of untwisted wires which minimizes near-end crosstalk (NEXT). Furthermore, the CAT6A RJ45 two-row up/down staggered load bar design minimizes Equal-Level Far-End Crosstalk (ELFEXT), thereby improving cable performance.
Shielded High-density Polycarbonate
Featuring a low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), the Polycarbonate RJ45 housing provides excellent stability and rigidity for use in extreme temperature environments whilst boasting a long service life. The housing is then encased in a metal shield to protect against EMI and RF interference as well as crosstalk from nearby cables.
PoE Compatible
Compatible with IEEE 802.3af/at/bt (PoE/PoE+/PoE++), the 50-micron 24k gold plating along with the 3-Prong Pin design ensure lower resistance and less heat.
